Summer 30x30

I'm taking Kendi's 30x30 challenge and joined the list of summer remixers, and I have exciting news to go along with it. The Husband and I are on our way to France right this very minute! Yes, we left the Hound in the hands of a very capable dog sitter { I told you she was spoiled...she requires someone to sleep with while we're gone } and hopped a plane early this morning. So I'll be starting my 30x30 with a true French twist!

I can't tell you how excited I am to not only do my first 30x30, but to also have it coincide with our trip. It does, however, mean I have some limitations. I only take a carry-on when I travel abroad. It restricts the amount of clothes, and particularly shoes and accessories, I can pack, but it's just easier. Especially since I always end up with an extra suitcase to bring home. Also, since we'll be exploring the countryside and Alps, I need clothes that don't require special care and comfy shoes. So no fun heels or fancy outfits for me. Nevertheless, I'm still super excited. Especially considering that I packed strictly for comfort on previous trips and ended up in a lot of Ts, jeans, and hooded zip-ups. Boring outfits = boring photos.

So, up top you have my 30x30 items. Apparently I have a slight obsession with J Crew. I'd feel bad if it weren't for the fact that I spent between $10-20 for each of those pieces. I'm a hawk for their extra 40% off of final sale deals. Also, the J Brand shorts and Express top are from Gabes, the Patagonia skirt is from TJ Maxx, and the CK top was consigned at Periwinkle. Almost everything else was purchased on clearance.

We're only going to be in Europe for 17 days, so I didn't pack them all and will use some after I return. And I left 3 empty slots. I'm going to Europe, people! I will most certainly not be following the 30 days of no shopping part this time. I'm hoping to fill those spots across the pond :)

The 30x30 starts Monday, and we'll be in Paris by then. J'ai hâte*!

*J'ai hâte = I can't wait! It literally translates to I have haste but means I can't wait
Gotta watch out with that one. It's a faux ami {false friend/cognate}.
I'd never use the word hate in conjunction with a trip about France :)

Yay! This is awesome on so many levels! Going to France, doing the 30x30, doing the 30x30 while in France, packing light (when I went to Argentina to visit my family for a month I took two suitcases... and not the carry on ones, exactly!).

I can't wait to see pictures of beautiful France and your outfits!

xoxo
